Inspired by the rich historical context of Xi'an, the capital city of China's thirteen dynasties, the Yanxi Rose Garden project pays homage to the Tang culture that is particularly prominent in the Qujiang area. The design incorporates elements such as black pine, deer, and koi, symbolizing longevity, grace, and prosperity. These traditional Chinese motifs are skillfully integrated into the minimalist architectural style, resulting in a contemporary portrayal of the renaissance of scholars in the Tang Dynasty.
What sets the Yanxi Rose Garden project apart is its ability to seamlessly merge Eastern culture with world aesthetics. By bringing together master teams from both domestic and foreign backgrounds, designer Yong Huang has created a unique living space that captures the essence of contemporary life. The project serves as a window to Xi'an's international aspirations, constantly absorbing the world's advanced living concepts and fashion elements.
The visual elements of the Yanxi Rose Garden project are showcased in a series of advertisements that exude a Zen-like tranquility. The minimalist architectural style is reflected in the clean lines and white walls, while the graphical elements of points, lines, and surfaces are combined in an orderly manner. This harmonious composition creates a sense of scene and imagination, inviting viewers to envision themselves in this serene environment.
The Yanxi Rose Garden project was realized using print and lightbox photo technologies. The advertisements, measuring 450cm x 300cm, effectively capture the essence of the design and convey the desired lifestyle and imagination to the audience.
Bringing together the traditional and the contemporary was not without its challenges. The compatibility of the visual elements with the Tang culture and the international architectural ideas required careful consideration. However, by adhering to the principle of "less is more," designer Yong Huang successfully selected the most representative visual elements of the project, creating a balance between tradition and modernity.
The Yanxi Rose Garden project started in Xi'an in December 2018 and was completed in February 2019. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to ensure that the visual elements conveyed a more expressive lifestyle and provided ample room for imagination. The result is a captivating representation of the Yanxi Rose Garden, showcasing its unique blend of tradition and minimalism.
The Yanxi Rose Garden project, with its seamless integration of Chinese elements and contemporary aesthetics, has garnered recognition in the design community. In 2019, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Advertising, Marketing, and Communication Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
With the Yanxi Rose Garden project, designer Yong Huang has successfully created a serene and visually captivating space that seamlessly blends tradition with minimalism. This unique living environment serves as a testament to the rich history of Xi'an and the endless possibilities of contemporary design.
